Questions, straight answers

FAQ

No corporate runaround. Here's what HaulProof does, what it costs, and how it keeps your numbers straight — answered like one driver to another.

Getting Started

The basics — what this is and how to use it.

What is HaulProof? +

It's a settlement audit and load-profitability tool built for one-truck owner-operators. Drop in your weekly settlement and HaulProof flags money you may be owed, tracks your expenses, and builds a clean profit-and-loss report for your accountant. Built by a driver, for drivers.

How do I get my settlement into HaulProof? +

Drop the PDF, or snap a photo of it with your phone. HaulProof reads every load, deduction, and dollar automatically — usually in under 30 seconds. It pulls out your loads, your deductions, and your totals so you're not typing a settlement in line by line.

Which carriers does it work with? +

Any of them. HaulProof reads your settlement with AI instead of pre-built templates for each carrier — so Schneider, Landstar, Werner, or a small carrier nobody's heard of, it all works the same way.

Do I need to download an app or buy anything special? +

No. It runs in your phone or computer's web browser — nothing to install. No special equipment, no hardware.

What HaulProof Catches

The audit — the part that finds you money.

What does HaulProof actually catch? +

Three big ones: miles you ran but didn't get paid for, fuel surcharges that came up missing or short, and detention pay that didn't show up or got underpaid. These are the spots money quietly slips through on a settlement.

How does it know I'm owed money? +

It checks what the carrier paid you against your own numbers — your real odometer miles, your contracted detention rate, your own fuel-surcharge history. When there's a gap, it flags it and puts a dollar figure on it. You review every flag yourself.

Does HaulProof guarantee I'll get the money back? +

No — and anybody who promises that is lying to you. What HaulProof does is build your case: it finds the gap, shows the math, and gives you the paperwork to make the claim. Whether the carrier pays is between you and them. The tool puts you in a position to ask with the numbers on your side.

What if a flag is wrong, or I already got paid? +

You clear it. Every flag has two buttons — "Got paid" (which banks what you actually recovered, so you can see your wins add up) or "Dismiss" (for a false alarm). You're always in control of what stays on the list.

Dispute Letters & Claims

How you actually make the claim — and where we stand legally.

Can HaulProof help me actually claim the money, not just spot it? +

Yes. HaulProof captures every detail you'd need to make a claim — arrival and departure times, free time, your rate, the facility, the total owed — laid out in order instead of scribbled on a fuel receipt. You've got a documented case to take to your carrier under your own name, instead of "I think they shorted me."

Is HaulProof a law firm? Is this legal advice? +

No. HaulProof is a self-help tool, not a law firm, and nothing in it is legal advice. You enter your own information, you review it, and you decide what to send and to who. It just does the math and the paperwork so you don't have to do it by hand. Using it is no guarantee — implied or actual — that you'll recover anything; it puts your case together, the outcome is between you and your carrier.

What goes into a detention claim? +

The stuff that makes a carrier take you seriously: when you arrived, when you left, how much free time you'd agreed to, your detention rate, the total owed, and the facility it happened at — all laid out in order instead of scribbled on a fuel receipt.

Pricing & Billing

What it costs and how billing works.

What does HaulProof cost? +

Standard is $19 a month, or $190 a year if you'd rather pay once and save a couple months. There's also a Premium tier at $39 a month coming in December 2026 for folks running with a spouse, a back office, or up to three trucks. And the demo's free — no signup, try the calculator right now.

Is there a free trial? +

Yes — 30 days free, and we don't ask for a credit card to start. Owner-ops only run a handful of settlements a week, so 30 days gives you enough time to actually see what HaulProof catches before you decide.

How do I cancel if it's not for me? +

One click in your settings. No hold music, no "are you sure" five times, no retention survey, no button buried six menus deep. You click cancel, you're done.

Do you do refunds? +

30-day refund window. If it's not working for you in the first month of paying, you get your money back.

Data & Security

It's your financial data — here's how it's handled.

Is my settlement data safe? +

Your data lives in private, encrypted storage, walled off to your account only. We don't sell it, we don't share it, and we don't hand it to anybody. It's your business, not ours to pass around.

Who can see my numbers? +

Just you. Nobody else gets into your account. Down the road, Premium will let you share a read-only view with your spouse or your accountant if you want to — but only if you turn it on. By default it's you and nobody else.

What happens to my data if I cancel? +

We hang onto it for a good while after you cancel — so if tax season rolls around and you need last year's numbers, they're still there. We warn you well before anything's ever deleted. We never quietly wipe your records out from under you.

Account & Setup

Housekeeping.

How do I change my email or password? +

Both are in your account settings — change your display name, carrier name, MC and DOT number, email, or password right there.

I forgot my password. Now what? +

On the login page, hit "Forgot password" and we'll email you a recovery link. No calling anybody, no waiting.

Can I use HaulProof for more than one truck? +

Right now it's built for one truck — the way most owner-ops run. If you've got two or three, multi-truck support comes with the Premium tier in December 2026, where each truck gets tracked on its own and rolls up into one view.

Still got a question?

Can't find it here? Try the free demo and see it work, or get on the waitlist and we'll be in touch.
