Detention pay that vanished. Fuel surcharges that didn't match the rate confirmation. Miles that came in light. By the time my CPA caught the shorts the next April, the money was long gone.
The big accounting tools weren't built for one-truck operations. QuickBooks doesn't know what a fuel surcharge is. Excel works until you've got 50 weeks of settlements and need to find a pattern. There's no shortage of trucker apps out there — most of them are dispatch tools. Almost none of them just read your settlement and tell you what you're actually owed.
HaulProof is the tool I wish I'd had three years ago. I'm building it for the driver who runs his own books, his own truck, his own business. Not built by people who've never sat in a sleeper. Just a working driver who got tired of leaving money on the table.
